Motor World

I have decided to go for motor vehicles / motorsport photography. I am interested in motorsport photography for this piece of work. I want to do motorsport photography because I have a good understanding and enjoy both photography and motorsport so I get really engaged within it. This will relate to tribes and culture because of photographing the different generations of cars; Such as older mustangs, frazer nash, Mallock racing cars and MGA racing cars. Finally I'm going to aim to get action shots and show a picture that no one else has seen before and display it in a motorsport magazine. I have a lot of ideas of what I can do and what I can do for my pieces of work.

Back to the 80s

These photographs represent 80s roller skates fashion. I have explored different ways to create colorful photographs and with these exhibited pieces I have not only created colorful photos but also created a portrait and a landscape photograph. The color in the photographs reflect on how vibrant the 80s used to be, While the fashion in the 80s was very random and it reflects on how the 80s was so crazy with their styles by overlapping clothing nobody cares what it looks like which made it so cool and fun back then. The size of my photographs are A3 which makes my images stand out because of the color contrasts and to be laid out beside each other would be great. Displaying the two photographs together will bring out  the best in People with a passion of skating being a whole  competition and not just singular categories

Floral Thoughts

I have researched and explored macro photography. My main aim was to create a creative piece to inspire the general public to be more appreciative of nature around them. I made a magazine and a zine on InDesign and edited my photos on photoshop to make an inspiring, bold creative final piece. I consider myself to be a photographer interested in landscapes, nature and all things about plants.  The inspiration behind my final piece all came from the exhibition we visited earlier this year in London, ‘Wildlife of the Year’. The photographer who caught my attention first was a young man called D’Artagnan Sprengle. He created a macro shot of a flourishing, cold daisy covered in frost.

Music Album Rendition

I am showing two album covers that I recreated from my two favourite albums out of my own collection.i am not necessarily referring to the music but more to the album artwork. Having a great interest in music and preferring to listen from vinyl and CD rather than just downloads, I have explored different ways to  recreate these covers to give the artwork a redefined and contemporary look. The Velvet Underground has been designed as a vinyl cover whereas The Backsliders was sized to feed into a CD jewel case. With a continued interest I am currently redesigning the famous The Smiths Meat Is Murder album as a cassette cover.

Skater Subculture

I am presenting a triptych made out of three skateboards that I have printed on. My work focuses on the fashion and accessory side of the skater subculture. Within this context I have created three different designs, each printed in a different technique. For the first board I used “liquid light”, a light sensitive emulsion. I looked at graffiti for this deck. For the second design I made a collage and applied the printed images with mod podge (glue), I looked at the environment that skateboarders tend to hang out in. The third design uses the cyanotype technique. Displaying the boards in a portrait line allows the different themes within skater subculture to be looked at all together as a whole exhibition. I have also included four images of clothing and accessories which I designed and printed using a sublimation printer. My designs were based on the architecture of skate parks and drawn in a naive and graphic style.

Fears of the Youth

I have created a magazine with a variation of photos and digitally crafted text to go alongside it. With my theme being focused on the fears of growing up into adulthood, I focused on gaining first hand knowledge of teens, and what their personal fears are. The Diptych element of my project helps connect and tie together the photo to the designated text I have designed for it. The photos are a mix of people as well as nature. The Nature aspect is being used as a metaphor for growing into adulthood and the fears that can come alongside it. I have kept this magazine digital to link in with the idea that teens are part of the online community as well as saving paper.

Polish Nutrition Culture

I created my project on polish culture to show what we eat throughout the day and also a section on our easter dishes. I came up with the idea from home. I have photographed 8 images in total 6 containing recipes and the other two being flowers and coloured eggs. I'm gathering up information to put in a website at the end with all my images.

Laced Street

I think that youth culture is rich and diverse, and that it deserves to be explored and celebrated. My goal with this project was to create work that captures the energy and the wild spirit of young people today. I worked with both photography and video to create work that feels beautifully chaotic and that is true to the experiences of young people in our world. I hope that by sharing this work, I can help break down stereotypes and misconceptions about youth culture, and show that it’s a vibrant and important part of our lives.

Deeper Nuances of Being Disabled

Hi, my name is Lilli. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 17, but I've struggled with undiagnosed chronic pain and fatigue for just shy of two decades. I decided after not seeing any representation of my disability in the media that I wanted to give myself a voice within my work. So here it is. A body of work that shows the mobility aids and the struggles that I face from everyday ableism. And I'm hoping that this either makes you feel heard, or allows you to see from a perspective that you haven't had before.

Why Just Pick One Style?

I have created a fashion magazine showcasing various styles which are: Grunge, Casual Chic and Bohemian. Moreover, I wanted to show that you don’t have to pick one style and how you can wear many and express how you like. Also, I looked at various ways to photograph fashion such as environment, black and white or colour photography, and micro-photography.

Fashion

For my final major project, the theme that I have done for my FMP is street fashion, as I feel this style is comfortable and fashionable. Also, each person adds their own personal touch to styles which I wanted to showcase in my work as well. I found streetwear would be a good topic for everyone to talk about as it is a common style seen today. So for this project I dressed the model in a top that is comfortable but not plain as I thought it would be interesting to have a pattern that plays with her body shape, which I find fits into the theme nicely. But I also put heavy make-up on the model because I wanted to have a mixture of both fashion and make-up as I feel like dressing comes with pretty makeup.

British Culture

I have exhibited a video representing British culture, including the tourism in London and pub culture, as these are big parts of it. Wanting to experiment with different forms of photography, I shot on film as well as using my digital camera to photograph and record. I added audio which I recorded using my iphone and this created a different feel to it as I consider the sound to be nostalgic and calming, contrasting the busy modern day Britain that I display. My work was approached with a documentary style so nothing was shot in a studio or set up, the clips and images were simply taken in the moment and I chose my favourites to present as my final piece. I wanted to capture the raw and natural side to the culture.
